When I was deciding what major to pursue in art school I met with the head of the advertising department, and he asked me a question that changed my life:
“Do you want to be a brick layer or an architect?”
Without hesitation I said architect. I wanted to be the one who came up with the concepts and managed a team to execute my vision. And that’s what I have done for the last 15 years. Creating multi-year brand platforms that are the blueprints for the many creative people that work on all these different campaigns.
Servant leadership.
That is my simple management philosophy. I am here to help in whatever shape that takes, to remove barriers from those above and below me. It doesn’t matter if you are a CCO or an intern, you get treated with the same respect and dignity. I believe in the power of positive reinforcement. It’s how I trained my Frenchie Meatball and he is a very good boy.
